At 9:21 p.m. Sunday a caller reported a vehicle striking a deer on Highway 218, her leg was injured and her husband was possibly trapped in the vehicle. The accident was on Highway 218 near 192nd Street, north of Ainsworth. Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Ambulance, Ainsworth QRS, Ainsworth Fire Department and Washington County Rescue responded to the scene. No medical transport was listed. The driver of the vehicle was Holly Wilde of Illinois and there was over $1,500 in damage.

Approximately half an hour after the deer accident a second accident was reported at that site while leaving the accident scene. No injuries to rescue members were reported. The southbound lanes of Highway 218 were shut down at 175th Street and traffic was rerouted for some time. Names of those involved have not been released.
