A cargo container filled with donations collected locally is expected to leave for South America later this year. Wayland non-profit On His Path has been operating Mission:Mobility for over a year, where volunteers collect wheelchairs, canes, crutches and other equipment to send to Bethel Ministries International in Guatemala. The effort that started in southeast Iowa has grown to include a network of volunteers in 18 states.

According to primary volunteer and collections coordinator, Rick Fulton, a cargo container filled with local donations was shipped from Washington County in May , and they expect to send another in mid-September.

He adds volunteers in Kentucky also sent a container down to Guatemala in May and their partners in California are preparing to send one in August.
