A short trip awaits the WACO Warrior baseball team (3-20 overall) as they begin their postseason run tonight. The Warriors open Class 1A District 10 tournament play tonight at Winfield-Mount Union High School, battling the Holy Trinity Catholic Crusaders (0-17 overall).

The Warriors took steps forward in their second season since resurrecting the baseball program. WACO earned three wins during the regular season, improving on a win less campaign last season. Rogers was the winning pitcher in two of the three WACO victories, leading the team with 39 innings pitched this season. He also leads the Warriors in total base hits (19), runs scored (14), and stolen bases (15).

The Crusaders are still in search of a victory this season, being 10 run ruled in 10 of their 17 games this season.

First pitch of the Class 1A District 10 first round clash between the Warriors and Crusaders is set for 7 p.m. at Winfield-Mount Union High School.
