The Iowa State Road Race cycling event is returning to Washington County in two weeks. The annual road race starts and ends in Riverside. Local cyclist Richard Gilmore explains the route will have participants go east on Highway 22, south on Vine Avenue, west on G36 and then north on Riverside Road. The loop is 32 miles long. The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved the road use permit at their meeting Tuesday.

Cyclists will be on the roads from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. August 15th, motorists are reminded to drive cautiously during that time. For more information about the event click here.
