He didn’t see the floor much this summer, but Washington Demon senior Derek Anding put his basketball skills to the test against some of the best college basketball players in the state. The 29th year of the Prime Time Basketball League concluded last week in North Liberty and featured Division I basketball players from the University of Iowa, the University of Northern Iowa, and several players from junior college programs from around the state. High School seniors interested in playing basketball in college were also welcomed to play in the league.

Anding was chosen for the 2015 BlendCard/McCurry’s team coached by Kevin Saunders. He was sparsely used over his team’s seven Prime Time League games, but made the most of his time on the court. Anding scored a total of 14 points, grabbed down eight rebounds, and dished out eight assists. He showed discipline on defense as well as he committed a single foul during league play.

The BlendCard/McCurry’s team went 1-6 during league play, finishing last in the league standings.
