The fall sports season officially begins next week, but several KCII area volleyball teams are getting a chance to simulate competition this evening in Sigourney. Savage head volleyball coach Chris Carter says eight teams from the area are set to compete in a round robin scrimmage this afternoon. The schools set to participate include: Washington, Mid-Prairie, Highland, Keota, WACO, Sigourney, English Valleys, and Tri County.

Washington head volleyball coach Julliana Berg says she is excited to see her girls in action. “It will be a good chance for us to get some kinks worked out and to try a few things without too much pressure.”

Demon senior Morgan Kimball says the team is using the scrimmage as extra experience heading into the upcoming season, “We are going to get to play with each other in an actual game rather than just in practice.”

The first set of matches are set to begin at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon at Sigourney High School.
