Does your dog enjoy swimming? If so, for $5 per dog you can take your four-legged friend to the 9th annual doggie paddle at the Steele Family Aquatic Center in Washington. All funds raised will go to maintaining Washington’s dog park, which is found in Sunset Park, near the rocket slide. June Henderson, organizer of the dog park, encourages people to stop by as it is a good opportunity to see if your dog likes the water.

Today’s event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and dogs can get microchipped at PAWS and More for $20. People who don’t have dogs are still welcome to attend, or may call the animal shelter to volunteer and take a shelter dog to get some exercise at the pool.
