A project five years in the making is hitting a milestone tonight in Washington with an official groundbreaking ceremony. At 5:15 p.m. today ground will officially be broken on the $7.2 million Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center. Jan Gallagher who has been working on the project for its duration shares she sometimes feels like she’s dreaming and there have been many ups and downs throughout the process. Bob Youngquist adds he too is excited for today.

The project is expected to be done in the fall of 2016. Gallagher adds they are still looking for donations and are finalizing their lists for naming right opportunities within the project. For more information listen to today’s Washington Page.
