Iowa Mennonite School cross country coach Marty Gingerich has two runners returning this year. Back for this years squad are last year’s number two runner Levi Geyer and the number four runner Jim Wang. Also running for the IMS boys this year will be a pair of freshmen, Jacob Boller and Micah Miller.

On the girl’s side, Gingerich will be counting on a pair of incoming freshmen, McKenzie Guiterrez and Rachel Geyer. The IMS coach says the secret to being a strong cross country performer is consistent training.

IMS lost three state qualifiers from last year to graduation. Riley Schmeider and Renee Buckwalter ran at state for the girls team, while Kirby Shetler was a state qualifier for the boys.

The IMS cross country teams will run at Fairfield on September 10th.
