Iowa Mennonite School volleyball coach Shannon Miller is looking for improvement from her team this year.

While IMS finished with just eight wins last season, they do have some talent back this year. Returning players include Natalie Graber, one of the top offensive players from last season. The senior was second on the team with 146 kills and had a serve efficiency of over 94 percent. Holding down the center position will be returning junior Alijah Beatty.

Defensively IMS will be led by senior Jess Bender and sophomore Rachel Miller. The IMS coach says the strengths of her team this year will be speed and communication among the players.

IMS opens at the Fairfield quad against Albia, Eddyville-Blakesburg and the host Fairfield Trojans, before opening at home on September 3rd against Louisa-Muscatine, a team they beat last season.
