Preparations are being made for Kalona’s Downtown Celebration coming up later this month. The annual event is scheduled for Saturday, August 29th. At tonight’s meeting, the city council will consider closing 5th and 6th Streets for that day. The celebration is now in its fifth year. It was started in 2010 to celebrate the completion of the downtown renovation.
