Things are looking up for the Mid-Prairie boys’ cross country team this year.

Coach Mark Hostetler says this years team will be improved over last year, even with the graduation of their lone state qualifier, Jared Draper.

Hostetler’s top returning runner is Ryan Errthum. In addition to the return of his top runner, the Golden Hawk coach says he has several other returning, along with some promising freshmen. Hostetler says this years team will be stronger all the way down the line, adding he expects this year’s squad to be strong through the top 10 or 11 runners. The coach says his team will be especially improved among the fifth, sixth and seventh runners this year.

Mid-Prairie cross county opens the season on September 1st with a trip to Williamsburg. You can hear our entire interview with Hostetler during the Wednesday PM Sports Magazine on KCII.
