Both the Mid-Prairie boys’ and girls’ cross country teams spent a week in Colorado at a cross country camp this summer.

Coach Mark Hostetler said it was a great experience for the kids. A total of 29 people made the trip, including coaches and chaperones. Team members spent time running and hiking in the mountains. Hostetler said the trip proved to be a real team building experience for everyone adding it was especially helpful to the freshmen who made the trip.

The Mid-Prairie coach said the camp helped make his runners stronger, both mentally and physically. The trip included a hike to Pike’s Peak, adding the thin air helped increase the stamina of his runners.

Mid-Prairie cross county opens the season on September 1st with a trip to Williamsburg. You can hear our entire interview with Hostetler during the Wednesday PM Sports Magazine on KCII starting at 6 p.m.
