Mid-Prairie has some veterans returning for their special teams this season. Punter Levi Duwa is back this year. The junior averaged over 35 yards per punt last season. Also returning is Karson Duwa, the senior averaged 32 yards per punt in limited action.

There is much less experience in the kicking game. Right now, coach Pete Cavanagh expects sophomore Terryn Jacoby to handle the kicking responsibilities. Jacoby played soccer for the Golden Hawks last spring.

Meanwhile Nolan Faselt is back to lead the return game. The senior averaged nearly 18 yards per kickoff return a year ago. Also expected to contribute on kickoff returns is junior Ricky Vargas. The duo also will handle punt returns this year, Faselt averaged over 28 yards last year, while Vargas averaged over eight yards per return.

The Golden Hawk coach also has some experience back on his coverage teams this season.

You can hear our entire interview with Mid-Prairie football coach Pete Cavanagh during the JET Physical Therapy Radio Coaches Corner. Saturday morning at 9 a.m. on KCII.
