Even with the loss of several seniors from last year’s team, Mid-Prairie volleyball coach Cindy Miller isn’t looking at this season as a rebuilding year. Miller says she has a lot of sophomores and juniors returning who had plenty of court time with last year’s squad that finished 14-17. The coach says she’ll have great leadership from third year starter, senior Emily Cayton, plus a big boost in the return of center Clarice Murphy, a junior.

Miller says she expects her team’s strengths to be serving and defense. She says they were strong on the serve last year, which is a big goal for this year’s team. The coach, in her third year at Mid-Prairie, is excited about this year’s team. In addition to the experience returning, she has several incoming freshmen who have experience in club play.

Mid-Prairie opens the season in the Keota Tournament on August 24th, before hosting Wilton on September 3rd.
