Over 200 people in Washington County have already cast ballots for the September 8th school elections. According to Sue Meeks, elections administrator, explains three have voted in the Mid-Prairie School District, 10 who live in Washington County and reside in the Keota School District, 67 for Washington and 130 in Highland’s district.

In 2013, 6% of Mid-Prairie voters turned out or about 300 people. Highland School District had about 5.5% of voters turn out in the 2013 school election and the same year 2.3% or 156 voters in the Washington School District cast ballots.

Residents can vote early in person at the auditor’s office in the courthouse or they may request a ballot be mailed to their house by submitting a request form.
