Registration is being held tonight for free ESL, or English as a second language, courses in Washington that begin next week. The classes are again being held at the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center. Director of the center, Tera Pickens, explains the class can benefit community members as a first step to mastering English. The classes focus on proficiency in speaking, reading and writing, which can help people access a better paying job.

There are two levels to the course, each will meet twice a week from August 17th to October 9th. The entry level course will meet Mondays and Wednesdays, the intermeidate class meets Mondays and Thursdays. Registration is tonight at 6 p.m. at the Kirkwood Washington Regional Center and students should bring identification. For more information contact the regional center.
