One of WACO Elementary’s playgrounds was refurbished just in time for the start of the school year.

Retired WACO teacher, Kathie Grimm, spearheaded the effort to give the upper playground a facelift, going through the process of obtaining a $2,500 grant from the WalMart Foundation and donations from the Wayland Youth Athletic Association and the WACO Elementary PTO.

Prior to the first day of class Monday, Egli Landscaping, TC Tiling and 4H Wood Products came in, removed the old chips, leveled out the playground and brought in new woodchips.
