With a vote of 4-1, the Washington County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution supporting having the proposed new public health building on the ballot in November. Supervisor Bob Yoder was the single nay vote. The complete project is estimated to cost $2.8 million. The department will be seeking grants to help lower the bond debt service.

Supervisor Abe Miller voiced concern over the price, to which it was explained there are certain requirements for medical clinics and HIPPA regulations. Washington County Public Health has been in temporary quarters since 2005 according to the resolution.

The proposed new building will be on county-owned land across from the sheriff’s office. For more information about the project click here.
