The biggest downfall during WACO’s 2014 football season was not being able to finish games. The Warriors, despite averaging 21 points per game, recorded one win in nine regular season games last season.

Warrior head football coach Chad Edeker says better second half play could have changed the complete complexion of last season. “Last year we went 1-8 but in those eight losses, we lead at halftime in six of them.” Edeker said, “It is just a matter of finishing games and sticking with it.”

The Warriors have 20 kids out for football this year, and on top of getting all the reps in practice, Edeker says the team is also doing extra conditioning at the end of practice.

WACO opens their 2015 season on Friday, hosting the Columbus Wildcats. The Wildcats won last years clash, 37-20, in Columbus Junction.
