The 2015 volleyball season for the WACO Warriors comes with holes to fill offensively. Nearly 70 percent of the kills recorded by the WACO Warrior volleyball team last season came off the swing of three seniors. Recent graduates Aaliyah Brown, Erika Leichty, and Kalicia Miller each recorded over 100 kills for head coach Jay Coble in 2014, accounting for 405 of the team’s 590 total kills.

All three ladies received all-conference recognition from the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North coaches. Leichty was named the SEISC North Division’s second team utility player. She finished as the team leader in digs (192), second on the team in kills (138), second in serving efficiency (90.4), and second in blocks (35). Brown and Miller were honorable mention selections and helped the Warriors finish 15-17 overall and 5-4 in conference play.

WACO opens their 2015 season on Monday, August 24, hosting a tournament against conference schools Columbus, Pekin, Van Buren, Wapello, and West Burlington. The event will also include Centerville and Maharishi.
