From June to July, Washington County’s unemployment rate remained unchanged at 2.8 percent. In Washington County 400 people of the 12,500 labor force were without jobs. The state’s unemployment rate went up slightly from 3.7 percent in June to 3.8 percent in July. Area counties with slight decreases include Henry, Iowa, Jefferson, and Johnson.
