The return of his all-state punter gives Winfield-Mt. Union coach Scott McCarty some experience in his kicking game for the upcoming season.

Sam Jennings returns this year to handle the punting chores for the Wolves. The senior averaged nearly 40 yards per punt last season. McCarty says Jennings worked on improving his skills even more by attending a special teams camp over the summer at the University of Wisconsin. The Wolves coach says having a couple of guys who can get down the field quickly to cover punts also helps the punting game, McCarty says he will rely on senior Zach Davis and junior Bryce Robison to handle those duties.

Questions remain on the place kicking side still, McCarty says right now the battle is between senior Kolt Rossiter and sophomore Kaleb Hagge.

Winfield-Mt. Union finished last season with a 5-5 mark, they open the season on August 28th with a trip to Marengo to battle Iowa Valley. Last year the Wolves fell to the Tigers 14-6.
