The English Valleys Invitational Cross Country meet Tuesday at the Knoll Ridge Golf Course in North English featured several KCII area schools in competition.

On the girls side of the meet the team champions were the Tipton Tigers with their team score of 42 points. The Top KCII area finish came from the Sigourney Savages who took fifth place out of eight teams with their 162 point team score. Top finisher for the Savages was Madaline Berg in 23rd with her time of 25:32.56. Other athletes for Sigourney included Summer Barthleman in 28th, Jasmine Abel taking 33rd, Megan Montgomery in 36th, and Paige Thompson finishing 42nd.

The Lone Tree Lions took sixth place with a team score of 183 points, led by Paige Doehrmann who posted the lone top 10 finish from an area girls runner. Doehrmann took 10th place with her time of 24:15.28. Other Lone Tree finishers included Sydney Alt in 27th, Chloe Jacque took 38th, and Devyn Alt was 50th.

The WACO Warriors were represented by Cheyenne Sedlacek with her 29th place finish in 26:04.24.

Iowa Mennonite had three girls runners participate in the JV race, won by Callie Shaw with her time of 25:36. Other IMS finishers included Mackenzie Gutierrez in sixth and Rachel Geyer in seventh.

On the boys side of the event the team champions were the Clear Creek Amana Clippers with their team score of 52. The top area team was Sigourney, the Savages posted a team score of 176 points placing fifth. Top finisher for Sigourney was Will Flanegin in 12th with his time of 19:25.59. Other finishers for the Savages included Tyler Crawford in 13th, Luke House in 43rd, Tristen Bell in 52nd, Tommy Stout 56th, Zane Kracht in 70th, and Aaron Michel in 77th.

The Highland Huskies placed seventh overall with a team score of 212 points. Kieffer Sexton led the way for Highland on the night, The Highland senior, currently ranked number 14 in the state in the latest Iowa High School Association of Track Coaches individual state rankings, led wire to wire and was unchallenged in the second half of the race as he pulled away for his second career win. Sexton finished with a winning time of 17:44.78, winning the race by a full 30 seconds. Other results for the Huskies included Caleb Brase in 19th, Josh Brand in 42nd, Jared Gringer 66th, Nic Rath 84th and Garret Colbert 85th.

WACO placed 13th as a team with their overall score of 422 points. Top finisher for the Warriors was John Skriver in 68th place with a time of 23:05.68. Other WACO finishers included Trevor Patagos in 81st, Joe Edeker in 82nd, Roman Kiefer 93rd and Zachariah Parsons in 98th.

Iowa Mennonite did not have enough runners to post a team score. IMS was led by Jim Wang, who finished in 75th place with his time of 23:36. Other IMS finishers included Jacob Boller in 87th and Micah Miller 92nd.
