For the first time this fall, the Washington Demon volleyball team (3-6 overall; 0-1 Southeast) will play a match in front of the home town crowd. The Demons welcome their Southeast Conference rivals the Fairfield Trojans to Washington High School for a league battle.

The Demons fell in their conference opener Tuesday evening in Mount Pleasant, falling to the Panthers in four sets (18-25, 12-25, 25-16, 19-25). Junior Jessie Buchholz leads the Southeast Conference with 14 aces.

The Trojans were last on the court last Thursday in Fairfield, sweeping the Mount Pleasant Panthers in straight sets (25-14, 25-8, 25-18). Junior Shelby Heston ranks third in the Southeast Conference in kills with 37.

First serve of Washington’s varsity home opener against the Fairfield Trojans is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. at Washington High School. Tune in to tomorrow KCII Sports Page for results and comments from the match.
