Food For All’s Amy Spencer with one of the scarecrows

The Kalona Historical Village will be holding their annual Fall Festival this weekend. There will be activities for the entire family during the event today and tomorrow.

Kalona businesses are also making part of the event a fundraiser for Food For All of Kalona. Businesses have been displaying decorative scarecrows, which will be auctioned off tomorrow with the money raised going to Food For All, who provides food assistance along with a summer lunch program.

The Kalona Historical Village has 15 permanent buildings open to the public including two nationally known quilt rooms. During this weekend’s festival there will be working displays and demonstrations, including corn meal grinding, quilting, apple butter making and an old time blacksmith.
