The Mid-Prairie volleyball team is set to host their annual tournament this weekend.

The Golden Hawks enter play on Saturday with an overall record of 6-9, they stand at 1-5 in the River Valley Conference. Last time Mid-Prairie was on the floor was Thursday night at Tim Grady Gymnasium where they fell to the West Branch Bears in straight sets 19-25, 19-25 and 14-25. On the evening Mid-Prairie was led by Ali Butters and Jaedynn Evans with six kills each, Clarice Murphy had 15 assists and Emily Cayton led the way with 16 digs.

For the season Mid-Prairie is led by Evans with her 123 kills. Sami Miller has dished out 182 assists and Amanda Miller has totaled 151 digs.

The Washington Demons will also be participating in the Golden Hawk Invitational. The Demons are 4-14 overall on the year and 1-3 in the Southeast Conference. Last time the Demons were on the floor they fell to Fort Madison in straight sets by scores of 15-25, 10-25 and 17-25. Washington was led in the match by Amber Salow with five kills, Megan Mitchell had 12 assists and Salow also led the Demons with nine digs.

For the year Washington is led by Amber Salow with 57 kills, Megan Mitchell has 114 assists and Emma Stout has 84 digs.

The Sigourney Savages will also play at Mid-Prairie today. Sigourney is at 4-6 overall for the year and 2-3 in the South Iowa Cedar League. Last time on the floor Sigourney swept through Tri County in straight sets 27-25, 25-11, and 25-19.

For the year the Savages are led by Sierra Davis with 98 kills, Leah Carter has 164 assists and Davis also leads the team with 95 digs.

Other teams participating Saturday at Mid-Prairie include Benton Community, Iowa City Regina, and #1 in class 3A West Liberty.
