Pope Francis visited the U.S. last week and met political leaders in Washington, D.C. Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) said the Pope’s speech to Congress was balanced, meaning Grassley agreed with parts of the speech. He said there are moral implications with every law that’s passed. Pope Francis was the first Pope to address the legislative body.

When asked what Grassley hopes Americans take away from the Papal visit, he said the emphasis on the family unit is important. Grassley concluded he believes Pope Francis will have a long-lasting impact not only on the Catholic Church, but on religion as a whole.
