The Mid-Prairie volleyball team participated in the Mount Vernon Tournament last weekend.

The Golden Hawks played five matches in all, finishing with a 1-4 record. The Hawks opened up against Center Point-Urbana, falling in a sweep to the Stormin’ Pointers,  21-14 and 21-10. In match two of the day Mid-Prairie saw fellow River Valley Conference School North Cedar. It was the Knights that took a two games to none win over Mid-Prairie 21-18 and 21-8. In Mid-Prairie’s third match of the day they were beaten by the Maquoketa Cardinals in a two game sweep 23-21 and 21-19. The Golden Hawks broke through in their fourth match for their first win of the day. Mid-Prairie topped Gladbrook-Reinbeck two games to one, 25-27, 25-17 and 15-10. In their final action of the day the Golden Hawks fell to fellow River Valley Conference school Tipton in a two game sweep 25-22 and 28-26.

On the day statistically, Mid-Prairie was led by Jaedynn Evans with 33 kills, Sami Miller had 35 assists and Amanda Miller finished with 45 digs. Mid-Prairie is now 5-4 on the year, they will be back on the court tonight when they travel to Louisa-Muscatine.
