The Highland School Board held it’s first meeting since last week’s election. All members elected were sworn in, including one new board member, Nathan Robinson. Chosen as board president was Kevin Engel, while Mike Golden was chosen as vice president.

The board accepted a bid for a new boiler at the high school. The lowest bidder was AAA Mechanical Contractors of Iowa City at $116,800. A total of three bids were received. Board members also voted to raise pay for substitute teachers from $100 to $110 per day.
