The senior running back for the Lone Tree Lions football team (2-1 overall) is near the top of several rushing categories in Class A District 6.

Lone Tree’s Jared Hudson leads the district with 456 yards rushing. Hudson’s yardage lead is a slim one, out gaining WACO’s Bryce Achen by 14 yards.

Hudson leads the district in rushing despite the Lions playing two less quarter than the rest of the teams in the district.
Lone Tree’s season opener against the North Mahaska Warhawks was called off with 39 seconds remaining in the second quarter, giving the Lions a 30-0 week one victory.

Hudson’s eight rushing touchdowns trails only Achen (9) for the most in the district, and his 57 yard touchdown against Van Buren last Friday is the second longest rushing touchdown recorded in the district this season.

Hudson’s best game of the season came during Lone Tree’s homecoming win Friday versus Van Buren. He rushed for 241 yards and three touchdowns in the Lions 62-36 triumph.

Hudson and the Lions are set to return to the gridiron tomorrow evening, traveling to Eldon to face the Cardinal Comets (0-3 overall). The Lions won last year’s meeting, 41-14, in Lone Tree.
