The Louisa County Conservation office is holding a program tomorrow called Hands On History.

County naturalist Roxy Gerard is reviving an event last held in 2012. She says there will be activities throughout the event scheduled for 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow afternoon at the Toolesboro Mounds and Museum site. The museum will be open as well.

Gerard says it’s an opportunity for families to experience tasks that were done by people living in Iowa a thousand years ago including corn grinding, corn cob darts and other activities.

The Toolesboro Mounds and Museum Historic Site is east of Wapello on County Road 99. Gerard says she hopes to revive this as an annual event in Louisa County.
