A suspected methamphetamine dealer is in custody on a range of charges. Lonnie Ray Mitchell was arrested Monday following an investigation conducted by the Fairfield Police Department that spanned several weeks.

He was taken into custody after the police department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s joint Strategic Response Team searched his residence at 1300 West Jackson Avenue Lot 22. The search yielded roughly 109 grams of methamphetamine which holds a street value of nearly $11,000.

The 47-year-old is charged with six felonies; felon in possession of a firearm, drug tax stamp violation, possession or control of an offensive weapon, gathering where drugs are used, conspiracy to deliver more than five grams of meth and possession with intent to deliver marijuana. He faces up to 45 years in prison.

The investigation is ongoing.
