Topsoil moisture levels in Iowa fell slightly last week, but mostly remains adequate. In southeast Iowa topsoil moisture is rated seven percent surplus, 75 percent adequate, and 15 percent short. Subsoil moisture in the area is rated six percent surplus, 78 percent adequate and 14 percent short.

Approximately four percent of Iowa is experiencing drought conditions at this time. Portions of northeast Iowa are considered abnormally dry. At this time last year Iowa was not experiencing any drought conditions.
