Sydney Kendall

The suspect charged in connection with a stabbing in Fairfield is now facing additional charges.

Twenty-two-year-old Sydney Kendall, who was originally charged with a misdemeanor count of Assault while using a dangerous weapon, is now charged with attempted murder, a class B felony and willful injury, a class C felony. If convicted on both counts Kendall could face up to 25 years in prison.

Authorities say Fairfield Police were called to a West Broadway residence on a report of a stabbing earlier this month. When police arrived they found the victim had been stabbed several times, while the suspect had fled the scene. Kendall was later located and taken into custody.

The victim has been released from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following treatment of his wounds.

Kendall is currently being held in the Jefferson County jail under $50,000 cash only bond.
