The Mid-Prairie boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Williamsburg Tuesday night to open the 2015 season. On the boys side Mount Pleasant took the team championship with 76 points. Mid-Prairie finished second in the 12 team field with their score of 88 points. Top finisher for the Golden Hawks was Ryan Errthum, he was third with a time of 17:32. Other Mid-Prairie boys finishers included Floyd Evans in fifth, Peyton Miller was 11th, Ben Sigler took 21st, Marshal Teets was 41st, Ben Stone took 43rd, David Fleming finished 59th, Quinn Schmidt was 67th, Hunter Eden 99th, Camden Marner was 138th, Spencer Yutzy took 175th, Austin Bontrager was 180th, Elmir Ganibegovic was 186th and Eli VanRoekel took 190th place.

On the girls side of the event Williamsburg defended their home course, taking the team championship with 69 points. Mid-Prairie finished in fourth place with 88 team points. Top finisher for the Golden Hawk girls was Anna Hostetler in fourth place with a time of 20:51. Other Golden Hawk finishers included Abby Tornow in 11th, Hannah Van Roekel took 18th, Maddi Zahardnek was 27th, Kessa Jones 28th, Greta Schmidt finished 31st, Moriah Brase was 79th and Shelby Zahradnek took 96th.
Sigourney also participated at the Williamsburg meet. On the boys side the Savages placed 10th in the 12 team field with their score of 272 points. Top Sigourney boys finisher was Tyler Crawford in 30th with a time of 18:54. Other runners for the Savages included Will Flanegin in 49th, Luke House in 71st, Tristan Bell in 91st and Tommy Stout in 96th.
On the girls side of the Williamsburg meet Sigourney placed 10th out of 13 teams with a score of 260 points. Top finisher for the Savages was Alyssa Landgrebe in 40th with a time of 23:37. Other runners for Sigourney included Summer Barthleman in 44th, Madaline Berg in 65th place, Jasmine Abell in 68th, and Lily Hammes in 90th.
