Seven matches into the season, Winfield-Mount Union setter Caitlin Jamison is among the league leaders in assists. The Wolves’ senior has registered 62 assists in 14 sets this season, leading the conference with 4.43 assists per set.

The only volleyball player in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference with more assists than Jamison is Pekin senior Courtney Comstock, who has collected 83 assists in 23 sets.

Last season, Jamison finished second in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North with 559 assists.

Jamison’s setting played a role in the Wolves’ first victories of the season this weekend in the West Branch tournament. Jamison recorded 13 assists in the Wolves 25-10, 25-18 sweep of English Valleys. She added eight more in W-MU’s 21-19, 21-11 triumph over Central City.

The Wolves sit 2-5 overall on the season, and travel to Packwood Thursday to face the SEISC North leading Pekin Panther (7-2 overall).
