Over the last three seasons, the Solon Spartans football team is 20-0 when they outrush their opponents. As heard on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com the Washington Demons ran all over the Spartan defense, outrushing Solon 315 to 60 in a 28-14 victory Friday at Case Field.

Sophomore Ryan Reighard rushed for a career-high 231 yards and scored three touchdowns in the victory. Senior Jack Giardino collected an additional 84 yards on 18 carries and scored an additional touchdown.

The win is the fourth straight for the Demons, who have outscored their opponents 121-33 since their week one loss to the No. 1 Pella Little Dutch.

The schedule appears to get easier over the next three weeks, facing Southeast Conference foes Fort Madison (1-4 overall), Keokuk (1-4 overall) and Mount Pleasant (0-5) in district play. The three teams are a combined 2-13 so far this season.

Over the last 25 years, Washington has dominated their series on the gridiron with Fort Madison. Since 1990, the Demons and Bloodhounds have met 20 times on the football field with Washington winning 19 of those meetings. The lone win the Bloodhounds have over the Demons since 1990 was on September 28, 2001, a 30-6 triumph in Fort Madison.

The Demons and Bloodhounds are set to meet this Friday at Fort Madison High School. Live play-by-play coverage begins with the Washington Hy-Vee Pregame Show at 7 p.m. on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com.
