An annual event to help those in need is coming up this weekend. It’s the annual scouting for food activity.

Each October Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts collect non-perishable food items from people to help local food banks. This years event is this Saturday and Jeff Kaufman, Cub Master of Mid-Prairie Pack 234 says his kids will be out picking up bags of food for the local food banks. Earlier this month the scouts dropped off bags at houses in the area and this weekend they will be back to pick up the bags.

All area residents need to do is put the food items they wish to donate in the bags and leave them on the front porch. All food collected is donated to local food banks.
