Washington, Mid-Prairie and host school Iowa Mennonite will all be in action tonight at the IMS meet at the Wellman golf course.

The Demons enter competition tonight fresh off of hosting their own meet on September 29th. On their home course the Demons put together a great showing, with two top ten finishes and five medalists. Senior Emme Keith led the way for the Demons, finishing eighth overall in a time of 20:20. Brooke Stout was ninth, Molly Sparks 12th, Mariah Howard 21st and Molly Vos 23rd.

The Demon boys saw four runners medal in the competition. Owen Horak led the pack for Washington, taking 14th with a time of 17:46. Brennan Horak was 15th, Jacob Van Osdol was 17th and Ben Loy 23rd.

The Mid-Prairie boys and girls cross country teams have had a week off since their run at the Clear Creek Amana Invitational on September 28th. The Golden Hawk boys are currently ranked third in the state in class 2A. At CCA the Golden Hawks brought home the team title with their score of 38 points. Mid-Prairie was led by Luke Sigler who finished second. Other Golden Hawk runners included Ryan Errthum seventh, Peyton Miller eighth, Floyd Evans ninth, Andrew Schwartz 12th, Ben Stone 15th, Quinn Schmidt 18th, Marshal Teets 20th, Brent Foster 25th, Ben Sigler 27th, David Fleming 29th, Hunter Eden 57th, Matthias Schwartz 70th, Spencer Yutzy 79th, Camden Marner 85th and Eli Van Roekel 93rd.

The sixth ranked Mid-Prairie girls were runners up at Clear Creek with 41 points. Top finisher for the Golden Hawk girls was Anna Hostler in second with a time of 19:44. Other Mid-Prairie finishers included Greta Schmidt eighth, Maddi Zahradnek ninth, Hannah Van Roekel 10th, Abby Tornow 12th, Kessa Jones 13th, Shelby Zahradnek 25th, Sophia Norman 30th and Olivia Quinby 34th.

The home-standing IMS cross country team was last in action Thursday at the City High Bud Williams Invitational on the campus of West Branch High School. The IMS boys were led by Jim Wang in 63rd place with his time of 21:24. Jacob Boller was 68th in 21:50 and Micah Miller 88th in 24:48. The IMS girls were led by Calli Shaw who was 15th in the JV race with a time of 23:47. Mackenzie Gutierrez was 28th in 25:04 and Rachel Geyer 60th in 25:56. Action at the IMS Invitational begins tonight at 5:30 at the Wellman Golf Course.
