Drought conditions increased across Iowa in the last week. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, 3.6 percent of the state is in moderate drought and 13.3 percent is abnormally dry. At this time, most of Washington County, as well as portions of Keokuk, Jefferson, Henry, Louisa and Johnson counties are considered abnormally dry.

At this time last year none of Iowa was abnormally dry. Washington went 30 days, from late September to just this week, without rain. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
