Gas prices are beginning to fall, following a rise due mainly to refinery maintenance. Four of the five states showing the largest price drop over the past week were in the midwest.

According to the website gasbuddy.com, the average price in the state of Iowa fell a little over seven cents from the price one week ago. Prices are down more than 55 cents from prices a year ago.

The average price in Washington County stands at $2.39 per gallon, in Keokuk County the price is $2.24, while in Louisa County the average stands at $2.28.
