The Mid-Prairie boys cross country team is in Fort Dodge today to compete in the class 2A Iowa Boys High School Athletic Association State meet.

Mid-Prairie qualified as a team by winning the state qualifying meet championship at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Columbus Junction on October 22nd. The Hawks rolled through the field with their team score of 26 points, winning the meet by a total of 45. At the state qualifier, Mid-Prairie was led by Luke Sigler in second with a time of 16:52. Other Mid-Prairie finishers included Peyton Miller third, Floyd Evans fifth, Andrew Schwartz seventh, Ryan Errthum ninth, Brent Foster 17th and Marshal Teets 22nd.

Last season, Mid-Prairie had one individual, Jared Draper qualify for the state meet. Draper finished in ninth place overall with his time of 16:41.3. The 2015 edition of the Golden Hawk boys enters the state meet ranked fourth in the latest poll from the Iowa Association of Track Coaches. The Golden Hawks have two individuals ranked in the latest poll with Luke Sigler checking in at 16th and Peyton Miller at 18th.

The class 2a boys state cross country meet is set for this afternoon in Fort Dodge.
