The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team came through with their first road River Valley Conference match win of the season, topping Monticello in five sets Thursday.

The Golden Hawks got the win by scores of 25-12, 14-25, 25-21, 25-27 and 15-13. The Hawks changed things up, going with a 5-1 offensive set and it paid off with the win.

Mid-Prairie was led by a huge effort from freshman Jaedynn Evans with 18 kills, Emily Cayton added 10. Freshman Sami Miller stuffed the stat sheet with 41 assists and the Mid-Prairie defense was everywhere, with four players posting more than 10 digs led by Emily Cayton with 20, Jaedynn Evans with 13, Smi Miller with 12 and Amanda Miller with 10. With the win Mid-Prairie is now 11-11 on the season.
