Area farmers have been busy at work and are harvesting the last of their crops. According to the United States Department of Agriculture, 89 percent of soybeans and 84 percent of corn have been harvested in southeast Iowa. Across Iowa, 73 percent of the state’s corn has been harvested for grain, 12 days ahead of last year and three days ahead of the five-year average.

According to the same report, on-farm grain storage availability is 68 percent adequate and 28 percent short. Off-farm grain storage has more availability with 75 percent adequate and 21 percent short.
