A 20-win season is on the line tonight for the Highland Huskies (19-12 overall) volleyball team in rural Riverside. The Huskies are set to face the winless Louisa-Muscatine Falcons (0-31 overall) in tonight’s Class 1A Region 7 second round tournament match at Highland High School.

Highland advanced past their regional first round opponent, the Columbus Wildcats (6-24) in straight sets (25-14, 25-15, 25-21). Senior Brianna Davis smashed 10 kills and dished out 11 assists, and junior Kelsey Hora dug up 18 balls in the victory. The win was the 19th of the season for Highland, a four win improvement over last season.

The two teams met twice during the regular season, once during tournament play and once during regular season competition. Highland won both matches in straight sets.

The winner of tonight’s match will advance to Friday’s regional semifinal in West Branch to face the winner of the West Branch and Iowa City Regina match being held tonight at West Branch High School.

First serve is set for 7 p.m. tonight at Highland High School.
