After a tough stretch in which they dropped 12 of 13 matches, the Iowa Mennonite School volleyball team posted a conference win Tuesday night at Lone Tree, sweeping the Lady Lions in straight sets, 26-24, 25-11 and 25-20.

In the win IMS was led by Natalie Graber with 15 kills, Alijah Beatty had 20 assists and the IMS defense continued its stellar play with four players recording at least 10 digs led by Beatty with 16, Jess Bender with 15, Avery Blauvelt with 14 and Graber with 10. IMS is now 7-14 overall, 2-3 in conference play.

Statistical leaders for Lone Tree in the match included Elena Sieverding with 12 kills, Morgyn Edwards with 14 assists and four Lady Lions with at least 10 digs led by Hailey Comer and Liz Dodson with 17 each, Sieverding finished with 15 and Maddie Forbes had 12. With the loss Lone Tree falls to 12-8 on the year, 3-2 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.

Tonight in another battle of KCII area teams, IMS hosts the WACO Warriors. WACO has won three of their last five matches and has an overall record of 6-13 with a 1-4 mark in league play. WACO is led on the year by Cierra McArtor with 74 kills, Halle Kissell with 201 assists and McKenna White with 136 digs, ranking her 10th overall in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference. Individually for the year, IMS is led by Natalie Graber with 102 kills, seventh best in the SEISC and 121 digs while Alijah Beatty has 222 assists, fourth best in the conference. Action between the Warriors and IMS begins tonight at 7:30 at Hillcrest Union in Kalona.
