Emma Gilliland, a member of the Keokuk County Hot Shots 4-H Club, participated in the annual state 4-H shooting match.

148 4-H members from across the state participated in the state competition in air rifle, small bore, archery, muzzleloader and shot gun competitions. Gilliland competed in compound archery and scored 171 out of a possible 200, finishing in fifth place out of 15 competitors in her division. This was Gilliland’s first year to be involved in shooting sports.
