For the second time since becoming their own program in 2006, the Lone Tree Lions football team (5-3 overall; 4-2 Class A District 6) finished with an undefeated home record.

The Lions hosted the Danville Bears (2-6 overall) Friday evening in the Lions’ final home game of regular season. Lone Tree won the district meeting over Danville, 33-23. The Lions rushing attack proved to be the difference in the victory. Senior running back Jared Hudson rushed for 160 yards and five touchdowns in the victory. Junior Drake Hotz rushed for 131 yards on 10 carries, but was held without a touchdown.

Four of the Lions’ five wins have come at home, being outscored 99-54 in road games this season. Lone Tree ends their 2015 regular season schedule this week, traveling to New London to face the Tigers (4-4 overall) in a district battle. The Lions won last year’s meeting, 49-20, in Lone Tree.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. this Friday at New London High School.
