It’s homecoming week at the Highland schools and that means a busy week of events. There are special dress up days for the students and staff each day this week. Boom night is Wednesday night, when the homecoming queen and king coronation will be held, along with the parade at 6 p.m. and powder puff football at 7 p.m. Queen candidates are Cheyann Adamson, Briana Davis, Jenna Dresselhaus and Emily Stewart. King candidates are Tucker Hall, Tony Olquin, Nick Sandburg and Spencer Weiland.

Friday is football night, as the Huskies host Sigourney-Keota in the homecoming game. The alumni band will perform at halftime. Fans are urged to get to the game early as past homecoming queens and kings will be presented prior to kickoff. Some 70 past members of homecoming royalty are expected to be in attendance, including the school’s very first homecoming queen, Diane Flynn.

The week of events will wrap up with the homecoming dance is set for Saturday night beginning at 8 p.m.
